Giving Priorities

Private gifts are vitally important to the performance of the School’s varied scholarly activities. Individuals, foundations, and corporations which value our work have a profound and beneficial impact on research, education, and public service programs. The School welcomes support in its priority giving areas. They include:

  • Dean's Excellence Scholarship Fund - To further the social involvement of our students, the Dean’s Excellence Scholarship Fund enables the School to recognize those students who participate in some form of community service during their college experience.

  • Urban Water Research Center - The Urban Water Research Center advances the understanding of the distinct characteristics of the urban water environment. It is dedicated to interdisciplinary, problem-driven research that looks at those forces that profoundly affect water ills. Its unique focus and expertise have made it an international leader in applying basic theory and research to solve complex societal problems, and it is preparing students to be the water professionals of the future. For more information, click here for more detailed information or visit their website: Urban Water Research Center.

  • Community Outreach Partnership Center -The goals of COPC are to build bridges between UCI and the local community and to leverage the resources of UCI faculty and students to help address community issues. COPC supports research, teaching, and outreach projects that address the widespread impacts of demographic change. For more information, click here or visit their website.

  • Center for Unconventional Security Affairs - The Center for Unconventional Security Affairs addresses the security challenges of the 21st century through innovative research and education programs that integrate experts from the public and private sectors. For more information, click here or visit their website - CUSA

  • Center for Psychology and Law - The Center for Psychology and Law is the premier center for the study of interpreting scientific evidence, protecting child witnesses, mental health issues and the effect on justice, particularly where juveniles are concerned. It also emphasizes how misinterpretation of evidence in cases involving memory and suggestibility can lead to serious miscarriages of justice. For more information click here.

  • Planning, Policy, and Design Advisory Board Scholars - Each year, the PPD Department recruits talented students for the Master’s of Urban and Regional Planning. Giving to the PPD Advisory Board Scholars ensures the department’s ability to recruit talented graduate students to develop the professional and analytical skills that face planners. The MURP degree brings students into a small, close-knit learning environment that provides exceptional access to nationally and internationally recognized scholars.
