European Exhange Program (NEURUS)

Through the Department of Planning, Policy, and Design, UCI is one of six universities that participate in the Network for European and U.S. Regional and Urban Studies (NEURUS). The NEURUS program uses internet technologies, distance learning methods, international student exchanges, transcontinental seminars, and traditional forms of collaboration to make resources and expertise at each partner university available to students at any of the six participating institutions. The NEURUS student exchange gives students an opportunity to examine urban and regional development issues from a different perspective, conduct an in-depth research project of the student's own design, and interact with researchers and students from six outstanding universities. Up to three students from each of the six universities are selected through a competitive application process conducted independently at each institution. European students begin in the summer with a distance learning course and visit the United States in the fall, while U.S. students take the distance learning in the fall and travel to Europe during the winter.
