[4/21/08] ASSISTANT PROFESSOR IN URBAN PLANNING (PP&D)

The Department of Planning, Policy, and Design at UC Irvine invites applications from exceptional scholars with demonstrated ability for intellectual leadership in urban planning. We seek candidates whose research links core planning topics to questions of regulation or institutions in spatial or physical contexts. The topical area of focus is open, but candidates who bolster existing department strengths are preferred. Department faculty members have topical research strengths that include design-behavior research, environmental sustainability, housing, inequality and economic opportunity, international development, land use, human security, public health, public management, regional governance, transportation, water policy, and urban design. We seek scholars with a Ph.D.

[03/31/08] ASSISTANT/ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR DEVELOPMENTAL PSYCHOLOGY (PSB)

The Department of Psychology and Social Behavior http://www.soceco.uci.edu/psb/ seeks a developmental psychologist with research interests in infancy or early childhood for a tenure-track position (assistant or associate professor) to be filled in the 2008-09 academic year (i.e., starting July 2008 or later).

Candidates must have a Ph.D., and a strong record of research. Demonstrated potential for excellence in teaching is expected, and a strong record of acquiring extramural funding is highly desirable. Responsibilities include teaching undergraduate and graduate students, supervising student research, and maintaining a productive and innovative program of empirical research.

[12/15/07] ASSISTANT PROFESSOR, URBAN HEALTH MANAGEMENT AND POLICY (PH/PP&D)

The University of California, Irvine seeks applicants for a joint tenure-track appointment in the area of Health Management and Policy at the Assistant Professor level in UCI’s Program in Public Health and the Department of Planning, Policy, and Design. The Department of Planning, Policy, and Design comprises 17 full-time faculty members and offers a doctoral degree and an accredited master’s degree in urban and regional planning. The recently created Program in Public Health offers a B.S. /B.A. in public health sciences and public health policy and is slated for rapid expansion to support planned masters and doctoral programs.

[11/30/07] ASSISTANT PROFESSOR PSYCHOPATHOLOGY (PSB)

The Department of Psychology and Social Behavior at the University of California, Irvine invites applications for a tenure-track position at the level of Assistant Professor. The areas of expertise for the candidate search are affective disorders, psychotic disorders, or co-occurring severe mental illness and substance abuse. The department has a longstanding commitment to interdisciplinary scholarship and the application of theoretically-grounded research to social problems.

The Department of Criminology, Law and Society at the University of California, Irvine invites applications for a position at the assistant professor level to begin July 2008 (teaching duties to begin Fall, 2008). Substantive areas are open, but preference will be given to candidates whose work lies at the intersection of criminology and law and society. PhD required. For an appointment at an advanced Assistant Professor rank, evidence of success in securing extramural funding to support research and graduate students is desired. The University of California, Irvine invites applications for a joint position in Psychology and Law at the level of Assistant Professor. The successful candidate will join the Department of Criminology, Law & Society and the Department of Psychology & Social Behavior. Applicants should have a record of successful research in an area that links psychology and law. Candidates must have a Ph.D., and preference will be shown for those with a J.D.as well. Candidates must have an active program of research and demonstrated excellence in teaching. Evidence of success in securing extramural funding to support research and graduate students is desired.
