Program Overview

Program Requirements

The program consists of 52 units of course work, an equivalent of two full years (6 quarters). In lieu of a thesis, students are required to take the course "Social Problems, Law and Policy" in the winter quarter of the second year of study, which also serves as a capstone, or summary, course. A degree is granted upon completion of 10 required courses, plus 3 elective courses.

Students are required to take a course in residence on the UCI campus at the beginning of their course of study — "Introduction to Criminology, Law and Society." This accelerated 5-day introductory course is scheduled for September 15-19, 2008 before the fall quarter begins.
